Match Reports Eastbourne Town Youth 2 - Wealden 3 Town lost 3-2 away at Wealden;
Town started the game well, playing their attacking football, Holles,
Norwood and Dartnell opened up the Wealden defence with some good
passing moves and Dartnell finished well to give Town the lead after
10mins. But instead of killing Wealden off as they did at home; they let
them back into the game. Town then gave away a penalty to make it 1-1, a
shame as keeper Levett made a great save from the spot kick; but none of
his team mates helped him, they all stood and watched the Wealden
players follow up to score! Just minutes into the 2nd half Town were
rewarded with a penalty, but Norwood failed to beat the keeper! Again,
Town gave away another penalty, 2-1 down, then went 3-1 down and had a
man sent off! Town pulled 1 back, (3-2) as the ten men battled to try
and get a draw but it wasn’t to be. Eastbourne Town Youth 4 - Crowborough 0 4.11.07
Home to Crowborough. Town Youth have now completed
half their league games and remain undefeated so far and top of the
league, after wining 4-0 home to Crowborough. Town produced an excellent
1st half playing some good passing football and three well taken goals
gave them a 3-0 half time lead. But, as so often the case, our 2nd half
didn’t match our 1st and Town only added just the one goal; but well
done lads a great 1st half did the job and a clean sheet will nicely! Eastbourne Town Youth 2 - Haywards Heath 3 - 21 October - County Cup Town lost 3-2 at Hayward's Heath a below par 1st half saw them 2-0 at half time, and almost at the start of the second half went 3-0 down when a back pass was missed by keeper Albon. Dartnell then headed home to make it 3-1 and Norwood scored soon after to make it 3-2. Sanderson then hit the post and Norwood went close again. Green shot just wide and Dartnell should have levelled when bearing down with only the keeper to beat, but he shot wide. As time run out we just could not get that third goal. A bad first 45min cost us today!! But we remain top of the league! Eastbourne Town Youth 3 Wealdon 0 Town won 3-0 against Wealden at the Saffrons this was a game where town had to be patient as Wealden were playing a 4/5/1 formation town had plenty of the play but had to wait till midway through the 1st half to take the lead a nice build saw Patrick Murry cut inside and finish well. Our 2nd half started slowly and to be fair Wealden came into the game more but when town started to pass the ball as they can. again a move was finished off by Patrick Murry, then Jacob Jones made the game safe with a low shot. WELL DONE LADS 3 GOALS /CLEAN SHEET /AND THE SUN SHONE ON THE SAFFS Eastbourne Town Youth 8 Saltdean 1 Sussex
Youth League Cup 7.10.07 Away to Saltdean United Town moved into the next round with an 8-1 away win. New signing Scott Dartnell helped him self to a hat trick along with fellow strike partner James Norwood also getting a hat trick. Josh Green and Dan Jenkins completed the scoring. We played well at times and when we passed the ball quickly we opened them up and finished well. Matt Chapman did well at sweeper, after skipper Craig McFarlaine came off injured in the 1st half; as did Nathan Tudor. James Holles dropped in at left back played well and still got forward. Josh Green had a good game in midfield; the result will please manager D.J. as he was away hoping to see Wales in rugby world cup quarters! Hope he found a bar and watched England!! Eastbourne Town Youth 6 Seaford 0 A 6-0 away win at Seaford
keeps us top and still unbeaten but were made to work hard for the win
our 1st half performance was't very good and with Seaford up for the
game they got about us from the start but a nice flowing move saw Matt
Chapman cross and there at the far post was Ollie Smith to open the
scoring. Dan jenkins then made it 2-0. Our 2nd half was much better Meti
Dolva finished a nice move 3-0 and Aaron Tucknot made it 4-0 Dan Jenkins
hit his second with a nice strike 5-0 and Josh Green made it 6-0 well
done lads shame we did not start playing till the 2nd half !!!
Eastbourne Town Youth win 6-2 The Town yet again had to come from behind to win 6-2 but this time they found themselves 2-0 down at half time giving to bad goals away to go with a poor 1st half showing , but a much better 2nd half saw town slowly gain control of the play Ben Saber scored from the spot and Aaron Tucknott put town on level terms town then had a goal disallowed and so into extra time Nathen Tudor put town in front further goals by Patrick Murry - Kristian Connelly and Gianluca del-Audio booked a place in the next round of the county cup but we will need to be at our best this thrusday when we meet hastings at the saffrons 7 45KO Eastbourne Town Youth 3 Hailsam 1 For the third game in a row town came from behind to win 3-1 at hailsham town fell behind early in the game and were second best to a strong hailsham side for most of the first half who had they taken their chances could have made it hard for us town started to play their way into the game and striker JJ put us level just be for half time. Our second half performance was much better i felt if we could match them for work rate and pass the ball when we could we would grind out a result which we did patrick murry headed us in front from a corner and he made the game save getting on the end of a through ball and slotting passed the home keeper WELL DONE BOYS FOR COMING THROUGH TO WIN A HARD FOUGHT DERBY EASTBOURNE TOWN YOUTH 2 - EASTBOURNE BORO 1 Playing their first match of the season away to Eastbourne Boro - Town came from behind to win 2-1 with goals from Meti Dolva and Chris Sanderson .This was my first look at the team having been asked by Ady to give manager Dave Jenkins any help and advice and what I saw for the first 20min was that the boys were by far the better side and should have been 2 up but Boro scored against the run of play and showed then till half time what a good side they are. Credit to the boys at half time for taking on board what was said to them we scored after a few minutes into the second half Meti Dolva finished a flowing move and with 15min to go Chris Sanderson hit the winner town keeper sheldon(1st name still getting to KnoW their names) pulled of 2 fine saves to earn all 3pts. On this showing I hope the boys keep this standard up they were a credit to the club and will now look foRward to another local derby this Thursday at home to Eastbourne Utd - 7 30 KO
