Eastbourne Town FC have been awarded the prestigious Charter Standard Community status and are only 1 out of 10 clubs in Sussex to have been awarded the accolade. Since its formation 1881 Eastbourne Town FC has been actively involved in the local community and have a formal link with Old Town Youth FC and Polegate Grasshoppers FC who are a Charter Standard Development Clubs. With the link with the youth teams Eastbourne Town can boast a broad range of extremely successful teams ranging from Under 6’s and Ladies Teams right up to our First team who play in the Ryman League Div 1 South for the second season. The club has established itself in the Town by being the Oldest club in Sussex (127 years old) and by celebrating a highly successful youth development structure. The youth development structure complements the ethos of the club by coaching and nurturing local home grown talent for progression into the first team. Our Youth Team will be entering the Ryman Youth Football league for the season 2008/2009 in order to allow local young players to test themselves in the highest standard league of its kind in the area, no other club in Eastbourne can boast such a high quality standard of football. Our coaches are fully qualified up to UEFA ‘B’ Level and are all screened, CRB Checked and have current emergency aid certificates. Our club Physio has his own suite with ultra sound and we can also boast a very high spec team changing and showering facility. We have an expert goal keeping specific coach who is a UEFA ‘B’ Licence holder and he regularly trains all our our keepers from Under 15’s to First Team who all train together. Amongst football Eastbourne Town FC shares the very high quality facilites at the Saffrons Sports Ground with Eastbourne Cricket Club, Eastbourne Hockey Club, Eastbourne Croquet Club and also boasts a squash court, this makes Eastbourne Town a True Community and multi sports Club. The Saffrons has a brand new club house with brilliant facilities that regularly hosts family parties, Christmas, new years and birthday functions together with fabulous match day hospitality and fully functional kitchen that serves great food and a new bar for multi purpose events. As a club we will continue to grow and develop with the local community and local business’s to make sport a very big part of the life of all our supporters and club members. We became members of the Eastbourne Chamber of Commerce in 2007 and our Charter Standard Officer regularly attends the Weekly networking and business meetings in order to inform the community of all the new developments and opportunities the club has to offer.
